Installed Hypertech coil and got CHECK ENGINE light,,,,

Installed Hypertech coil and got CHECK ENGINE light,,,, replaced with stock one and the Check engine stays off??
I am confused,all wires were attached and well plugged in?
Any precedent to this,,,
Is there a way to test my coil off the car?

however you need to make sure that you have the right coil for your year car (obd2 or obd1)
i got an msd coil for my 95 formula and had no problems fwiw.
