just unbolt it and pull, you dont have to disconect it from the fuel line if you're just replacing injectors

There is a 3/8" disconnect tool that they sell at the auto store and it comes in a few sizes. The ls1howto.com site shows it. Go to the link and go a little ways down where they are disconnecting the fuel line and you will see.

Go to Autozone and buy fuel line "quick disconnect too" Your fitting is a 3/8" fitting. Unbolt the fuel rails (after if course you removed the fuse for your fuel pump and turned the car on to remove any excess fuel and pressure in the lines) disconnect it by first placing it on the fuel line and squeezing the tool and the disconnect together and then sliding the disconnect off.

I read you can just open the little tire thing on the fuel rail and just let it de-pressurize there? Is this true?

or is it easier the way you did it?

It takes 2 seconds to pull the fuse out of the fuse box located near the driverside headlight...labeled "fuel pump" and turn your car on a couple times (or try)....meaning NO FUEL IN THE FACE!!!
