The big bitch is getting it not to bang afterward.
Have to get a bunch of little shims ready (like
pieces of 1/2" plywood or 1x2s). Then after you
attach, but before you tighten, put the floor
jack under the Y-I intersection and shim every
close passing bit of body sheet metal, gas tank,
driveshaft and suspension/rear, and work the jack
until everything is tight. Then you can dog down
the clamps & bolts and have a pretty good chance
that nothing will bang or buzz. Unless you missed
a spot. The jack & shim will ensure that you have
the best non-banging ground clearance.
Took me 3 times to get my SLP Y to be quiet, and
that's supposed to fit like stock.
Better than WD-40 is stuff like Kroil, Rust Eater
or other penetrating lube that claims to dissolve
rust. Use it on the current Y-I joint too. That's
potentially the toughest to break loose if it's
had some years to rust together. Yeah, yeah,
stainless doesn't rust. As much.

I cant remember the stock setup exactly but you may have to also push the rear of the exhaust back a bit to get the y out and then in.
