Default just cant make up my mind on exhaust

i just installed some pacesetter LTs and an ORY. im running an open cutout now and its too loud. i need to find a catback thats as quiet as stock when im cruising around yet still loud when i get on it but not too loud that i'd be heard a mile away.

i dont want to do anything custom and i dont wanna spend too much. i just want something tolerable yet i dont wanna regret getting rid of the open cutout. ive been all over ls1sounds.com but i need input from personal experiences.

hooker is one im considering cuz its subtle but does it really get that loud at WOT? tsp rumbler is cheap but is that going to be just as loud as an open cutout?

I had pacesetter Lts / ORY / Hooker CB on my z and it was pretty quite at idle and lower rps. It got loud at WOT but nothing too crazy. It was a good compromise, nice sound and no rasp. You could also run an electric cutout when you want to get real loud.

well i should rephrase. stock catback is loud too, but the tone is horrible and its actually raspier than open cutout. i'd be happy with stock sound levels with just a better, maybe deeper tone.

So your running the stock cb? If you are then change the muffler out or get the hooker cb.

Same set up I have and I love it.

I use to run stock catback and a cutout. I ran around with the cutout open for about a year before it started getting really annoying with all the drone and what not so I capped it. With the cap closed it was SUPER quiet which bothered me also.

So now this hooker is a perfect in between. Its very tame at idle but really starts to wake up above 3K RPM's.

It could even be a little louder IMO. It just needs to be out the back so it doesn't drone like the damn cutout did.

i really like magnaflows cat-backs. I would probably go with that. Its stainless steel so it wont rust out unlike the hooker that i have.

I wish I still had my ory and a cutout. I went with TDs. Keep the cutout and go with a magnaflow. Sounds good at wot. Plus it's kinda quiet.
