Jegs catback installed...my thoughts on it
First of all, let me say that I am very impressed with this system. I only know of one other member that owns this catback. I looked it up on Jegs website and I said "what the hell" i will give it a try. The price tag is enticing right off the bat. The system is only $249 with $11 shipping!! That's what I call a budget catback. So of course, like most things, I figured I would get a low to mid grade quality. Even when I opened the box, I didn't expect much from it by looking at it. Well, as soon as I started putting it on, I was amazed!! The fitment and clearances were outstanding. I've only ever said that about one other catback, and that is Magnaflow. The clearance with this system is as good, if not better. Of course, the system isn't stainless...it's just aluminized...so it's nothing to look at, but I didn't care much about that since it's underneath the car. The hanger on the over-the-axle pipe actually replaces the little stock bracket that is retained for use on most aftermarket catbacks. The system does not come with tips, but once again, I didn't care much because I usually end up replacing tips anyway. Besides, I have my eye on a set of Corsa clones Anyway, I am running Pacesetters and an off road y-pipe, so I figured it might have a little rasp to it. Surprisingly, I didn't hear any rasp at all when I took it around the neighborhood. The description at Jegs says the muffler is a "welded turbo muffler" which led me to think it was a Dynomax muffler. I like the sound of Dynomax, so I figured I would probably like the sound either way. The muffler is a little big, but it is surprisingly light. Im not sure if it is actually a Dynomax muffler, but I am glad to say it has a great sound. It is mellow and smooth, but still lets my TR224 growl Anyway, I guess that about wraps it up. Here's a sound clip for ya

Thanks fellas. I know its nothing extraordinary, but to find this quality of fitment and tone for a low price makes it tough to beat. I knew I would be putting a cutout on soon anyuway, so I figured Id just buy an inexpensive catback and roll with the cutout open most of the time. Its nice to know that I have a nice tone when I want to run through the muffler
