Default Spyder intake?

I have done a search, and came up with very little information.... I am curious who has tested this intake, and what gains were made? Any gains on a cammed 346 c.i. car?

From what I've read, save your money. On stock cubes, gains were minimal. If you're gonna spray it or go stroker, then maybe. On stock cubes, the LS6 will more than suffice.

Trust me SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME we have built about 10 differant designs of our intake and we finally got some positive results on a 427 motor. We may have a version the might just work on a heads and cam car but we have yet to test it. We are in the process of testing these on many differant applications and will let everyone know what we find.

I thought the LS6 intake would only flow around 280cfm?! Please correct me if I am wrong, but for some reason that number is sticking out in my head... With heads flowing over 300cfm, I was just guessing that one of these intake setups would take full advantage of the head on the high rpm range?! Nate, damn..... that is a lot of work to get maybe one decent working intake!

Jeeeze ... Is that thing still around? I have never heard of even one person that has ever bought one. Hope they didn't make too many of them. I guess it could always be used as a boat ancher ...

To me... even if you got 25hp over the ls6...which I don't know if that is even possible... it is still not worth $3000 or whatever it is... Basically, I am in an engineering program, and my gf's stepdad is a machinist of 25 yrs. I was just thinking about playing around and building a couple of different designs for fun, versus all of the mandatory work I am stuck with on an everyday basis. I might play with one, but it looks like I am not going to spend a ton of time on it....

If you can come up with one that works it would be worth the effort. There are many big companies dump lots of R&D money into a new intake design and it seems that no one has come out with one yet. There is alot of speculation of upcoming intakes but until they're on the market with times/dyno numbers to back them up I think the LS6 is still the best bet.
