I'm about to test a sheet metal/carbon fiber intake that has really short runners, 4.1 inches to be exact, and I am looking for 5000+ rom power gains on a 13.5 to 1 compression 402 inch motor... and am expecting the gains to be good.

One thing to think about, the lt1 motor's had very very short runners and are a mostly low end power motor, so just because someone says it shouldn't work, look at other engine's and the intakes that are on them, there's alot of stuff out there that works but on paper shouldn't Look at the harrop intake for lsx stuff, the runners on that are pretty damn short, and for the sake of saying, the plenum (open air under the hood) is as close to infinate as it can be, and that intake makes lots of power.

Yes, but they're variations of their Performer RPM/Victor series aluminum manifolds. Most are for carb applications and have optional bosses for FI/nitrous, although they do manufacture a pre-tapped fuel injection-specific Victor-series manifold. This is the first front-feed intake for LS-series motors, however. All the others have the traditional carb-style (i.e., center) inlet setup.

Anyway, I like it. I think it would be sweet if they put the original block-style 'EDELBROCK' across the top to give it an old-school look, though. I don't much like the script.

I wonder if it will locate the TB in the stock position as well or if I'de need to make a new throttle cable.

That thing looks pretty sweet. Now we'll just have to see how it actually performs...

I was just lookin at the entire package pictured out beside where the LS intake was listed in that PDF document & every pic looks like it required switching back to a distributor set-up.

I just didn't see a pic without that provision.

I am very interested in this. I hope it fits under the hood with minimal modification, IE: throttle cable, air intake, fuel rails, etc..
Has anyone bought this yet?

Even if this intake didnt work that well NA it would be killer for FI.

If theres heat soak due to the intake.. hell just spray it with methanol.. or even easier.. a small shot of nitrous.

I don't think thats even possible to switch to. I don't think you can run a distributor off a cam position sensor, and the cam is missing a drive gear...

Still think this intake looks odd, but if it has good gains for that price then I'm sure it will be more than welcome to the market
