The whistling might be the bearings on the AC, since its on that side of the motor.
Since you have to push the TB down manually it would lead me to believe there is something blocking the cable from returning (spring isnt strong enough or some sort of snag) or the TB blades arent aligned good enough. If they werent aligned right the TB blades would scratch the inside of the TB where they arent aligned.

there are diodes inside of the alternator, if they start to give out they induce a whining noise through the speakers. you might disconnecting your alternator and running if off the battery for a minute to see if the noise stops. if so then the alternator needs to be replaced.
Bringing this one back... car was unused for several months, now i'm back. None of your solutions seemed to be working. The whistling at it's best gets SLIGHTLY quieter unless i drive the car hard. Then it just comes back again... Took it to a mechanic to install my headers and mentioned the problem, he told me it was the work done around the butterfly... it's no good. Don't know how he noticed, but... i'm just updating. Unless anyone has anything else to suggest.
Thanks... but, i don't think that's where it comes from. From inside the car, the sound seems to be towards the center, or leaning a little to the Glove comp. box actually. I'll make sure it's not the speakers at ALL. Get back to me whenever, thanks.

I'm moving it out of the garage tonight.. i'll check the speakers.. but wow that's odd if it's true. What would be the fix if its coming out of the speakers?
