headers?

so i have a 2000 trans am, and am debating getting headers and y pipe. i have simple bolt on mods and dont plan on heavy modifications. would it be feasible to simply keep the stock exhaust manifolds and cut from the cats on down and install just a smooth custom y pipe to the exhaust? would it be cost effective? would there be significant difference between this and getting longtubes? thanks!

I would definately recommend looking into a set of longtubes, we usually look to pick up anywhere between 15-30 hp especially with an Off Road Y-Pipe . Since you are not looking to modify the engine heavily I would recommend looking into some 1 3/4 Headers so you can maintain good low end power. We have the Pacesetter headers available with an Off Road Y-Pipe for $479.99 as a package deal. Feel free to PM me or give us a call at the shop if you have any more questions!

Get Lt's, ory. if you gut the cats your going to have to get the rear 02's deleted, so you might as well get the headers and tune, and pick up some hp.

yeah man LT's and ORY, if you dont have the money a tune isnt a big deal, if you got the extra cash then get one..

QTP's

I love my QTP Long Tubes. Picked them up here out of the classifieds. Their so awesome I 'm having a hard time parting with them to hide them under the hood. But 40 or so HP should more than compensate my loss.

i just got this from you guys and im STLL excited everytime i drive somewhere. i just wowed my STI-owning friend when we went cruising and i even let him drive it. he thought his catless downpipe was loud....hows an LS1 with open headers
