how many of you have your AC deleted? i barely ever use the AC in my trans am (have windows down most of the time for dark tint) and i like the look of it being gone...and would it free up some HP/weight? lmk your opinions and if you have any suggestions or pics post em up!...and what would be involved in doing this? thanks!!

I took mine out when i started to mod the car. It had been used less than ten times in the cars life. Excess weight on the drag strip. Dont have and clear pic's of it out but it makes the pass side of the engine alot easier to work on. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-c-system.html

No the front of the a/c compressor has a clutch that spins free when the a/c off. I just wanted more room under the hood.

If you dont use it than why not take it out. The only reason I keep mine is because my car is a DD and it would suck on one of those 90 degree and raining summer days.

I took mine out completely, probably saved about 35-40lbs. Cleared up alot of room in the Engine Bay too..

I still have Heat, that is what that hole with the 2 Lines coming out of that plate are.

I had to do a little modification in behind the Dash, basically to cut a pathway for the Blower Motor. It doesn't blow as strong as it used to, I have to fix that sometime..

25 lb reduction for compressor, drier, and hoses.

They say another 25 when HVAC controls are also taken out. Haven't gotten to that point yet.

From what I have seen the 1993-02 F-body is identical with this piece here..all the Bolts are in the same spot.
