Default Another CAI thread...

So I'm thinking the next mod for the car other than polishing the cme tips and putting the ZR1's on will be a cai. I know its a very overly discussed topic but just wondering what you guys thought would be best for me.

I basically just want to free it up and get some more air in there, its not like I have any big mods, just want the car to breathe a little better.

So my first question is what effect does a cai on my ss hood? Are they both then functional or would just the cai be? Also, I know I could get a SLP flowpac for pretty cheap, is it worth it or should I go with a different brand? Like I said, I don't need the best of the best by just a good one that will allow the car to breathe better.

Btw the car is a pretty much stock 02 SS with the blackwing and cme.

Thanks guys.

My understanding is that the SS hood(although functional) is minimal at best because of the location of the scoop and aerodynamics of the car(hood). I did the Fast Toys Ram Air on my SS and noticed a marked decrease in the IAT's as well as increased response from the car. You retain hood function as well and may see a few more HP/TQ with it.

How much does the Fast Toy's one cost? I really don't want to spend a lot.

Any other opinions?

Also would it be worth it to spend that much more of a fast toy's one if I could pick up a used SLP flowpac for a hell of a lot cheaper?

the hood does not work at all not worth it especially in the summer it is like a heat sink too...seal up that front stock slit and let it breath only from below to get the best gains or all the air you are ramming up is just going to escape through the slit instead of going to the motor...
