Wish I could say, but have not tested anything other than mine. There are guys whom have stated having good results though (one such noted above). One thing is for certain though, there will come a point where the LS6 simply can't move enough air to support the cubes.

I think this is a great option. I had not heard of this till recently. I would like to see some dyno numbers.

so would the rest of us....and sofar nobody has really shown anything other than what TPIS/LPE did.

"This LS6+90mm TB sounds good to me cause i live in cali and i got to keep that freaken EGR on in order to pass smog. So this sounds really good to me"

the FAST has provisions for EGR....sounds like it might just be the better option.

but...

assuming you have the ls6 now, when you sell it after installing the FAST, you are down to $800 out of pocket for the intake....take another $50-100 for selling the stock ls1 TB. so really you can get into a FAST setup for about $750

or spend the same amount on the modified LS6 + bigger TB.

i just picked up a used FAST 9090 setup, mild port by LPE, for $1200 shipped, and it included bosch green top injectors.

so selling my ls6, TB, and possibly the injectors (little more than i need, and could use the money)....i'm getting a FAST setup for about $500 out of pocket.

good deal in my book
I was considering the TPIS LS6/90 but it really doesn't come out cheaper.

TPIS needs to get the price down on this. Maybe sell a DIY kit to convert your own.

if you can weld plastic.....you CAN do it yourself.

afterall that's basically all they are doing.

i'll stick to my new (used) mildly ported FAST

looks to me like the smart choice is either the oval 75x90 oval TB + mod.. or in the completely other end of the spectrum the spyder....

YES!!! I looked at the wrong picture. I was looking at the LS2 thinking no EGR so i cant get it, but realized that it wasnt an LS6 intake. Looks like i can keep my EGR after all if i get the LS6 TPIS 90mm intake. Looks like i won this battle with cali

doesn't say.

but the 90mm ls6 appears to have the 3-bolt mounting setup.

the FAST has both the 3 and the 4.

i would think you'll be limited on the TB that comes with the 3bolt setup.

good call...

the picture they used in the dyno comparison was not right. they show a 3-bolt flange on the "modified" intake.

guess it was just for the picture.

looks as though any of the 90 mm units should work

My point exactly, but someone needs to sell the 90mm snout.

I'd rather not possibly screw up my ls6 intake and an ls2 for r&d. If it didn't work it could get pretty expensive, now if anyone else wants to try it that would be great. Just make sure you post pics and instructions for everyone else.

Or TPIS could sell a kit with good instructions.

LOL...someone posted the same article while I was trying too.

The data made me think most of the reason the FAST shows a gain is the 90mm TB. The TPiS set up looked better under ~6000 rpm.

I may try this on my new 383.

Am I missing something here? Based on the numbers posted by deuce 454, it looks like there is only a very slight increase in hp, and no noticeable difference in torque, when using the 90mm over stock. I may build a spreadsheet graph to look more closely at the hp/torque numbers, but at a quick glance, I see no real benefit to running the 90mm on the LS6... But someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit - Nevermind. I suppose a gain of about 12hp for the $350 isn't really a bad thing when you're trying to maximize your setup. Personally, I'd opt for the FAST setup if I were going for a big-number setup.

Im going for around 430rw for my car so I guess I will be getting my LS6 intake done. Should work great with new h/c and ARH headers.

I would caution you - keep in mind, they tested all these intakes with THE SAME TUNE. No one here would do that long term or would do it and think it's conclusive. More air requires changing fuel, air, and spark. This is a pretty good test, but the genius, and most of the result is in the tune when swapping parts!

I have an idea, let's swap cams and run them all on a stock tune and compare!
