To finish mine I used 0000 grit steel wool, and then some Flitz metal polish.

Stick with the big names that are proven if you dont wanna tackle it yourself and you cant go wrong.

yes, definitly. If you can afford the small down time then send it off. I did my over a weekend. took out the ridge and did the half shaft mod. Havent done the bump stop yet. I dont have a surgeons hand and scratched he mating surface of the blade/tb. It wasnt enough to hurt the idle but finding and buffing out the catch in the blades opening and closing (yup-stuck the throttle some) was time consuming. If you pride your own work then give it shot, take your time. If that is of no concern then send it off. $65 is a great value for the work and piece of mind. Good luck.

I used an air powered die grinder with a carbide burr. I forgot the name of it, the one shaped like a christmas tree but more rounded. About 1/2" diameter.

I looked for and could not find a how to for it.
I do know the most important thing is to not touch the area where the blade sits when it's closed, I used a paint marker to trace around it after cleaning and before disassembly.

It's obvious when you look at it what to do.

As far as finish goes I left it rough on purpose, I read a thread here about the CNC'd stock TB's and why they are left with a rough finish.
I did sand it a little bit to match the look of the average ported TB pics you find here.
Sorry it took so long to answer this, but I went to WI to pick up some old 73' Renault 12L with 2 buddies!! One of my buddies new projects!

I appreciate the input! I was defiantly thinking about a angled bit. I am going to order one thru my cutting tool supplier at work on Monday. I will be working on it next weekend! Keep an eye on this for pictures! Thanks again guys!

I defiantly can afford the own time since it is in the barn (stored for the winter).
