Having the same cool engine problem but at least mine gets up to 167 or so on the highway when it's in the 30s or 40s outside. WS6FirebirdTA00 and Meents, you both had 140-150 ECT, eek!

I got a 180* thermo now, what size hole do you all think I should drill in it? 1/8 or smaller than that?

WS6FirebirdTA00, how did yours do after driving it for a while now? Where are you at in NC, bro?

I am in Concord.

The car does great now with a 1/8" bypass hole drilled in a 180ºF stat. The car gets up to temperature in about 5 minutes of driving in freezing temps (about the same as the DD).

That's good news! I'm ready to get my 160 with two 3/16 holes swapped out for a 180 with a 1/8th hole then. What temps do you see on the highway now, after it's warmed up?

The hottest the car will get is 181, give or take. I can check out my logs when I get home to see for sure.
