Default Vengeance Fast intake porting?

Do you guys disassemble the intake during your porting jobs? I am actually running one of your "ported" fast intakes so I am just curious!

Thanks!

I am going to assume by their reputation that they do everything possible to their intakes when they port them. Anybody could just sand down the ports.

Well, on a search I did to port it myself, you had to disassemble the unit to port it right.. But I dont know if Vengeance porting is by hand or by computer, but in the 2 cases I would think it needs to be disassembled to do it.

He may be talking about recent tuning revelations.

The porting on mine looked as if the intake was not disassembled. The inlet and ports received the bulk of the work, while the runners leading to the port had some shaping. Everything that was touched could be accessed with the intake assembled.

Something else I noticed: the runner for cylinder 7 had less material removed. I don't know if that's intentional or just an oversight. I thought it was unusual seeing it on #7, which many speculate that the intake design causes problem with that cylinder.

I'm pretty sure on mine the runners were just ported with the intake assembled which IMO is not a true port job. I see it compared way too much to the Mamo ported intake that is popular on this forum and its not even in the same league. I guess the term you get what you pay for weighs heavily here.

I can't find the thread either, but I've seen it.

Basically, someone posted their FAST port job from one of the vendors. They opened it up to find that it could have been ported much better. The thread author repeatedly declined to post up the vendor who ported the intake fearing backlash, but at the same time received bashing for not revealing the vendor which could help forum members out who are looking for FAST port jobs. By some investigation, a forum member found a picture (that was not posted, but was in a series of the pictures posted) with the initials "VrD" on the intake, thus revealing the vendor. TaDA!

I'm getting my 92 ported by Tony Mamo. Pay more to get it done right.

Any good intake porter will take one apart since it gives them the best room to make cutting easier, there are some single planes that are being developed that are also able to be disassembled and since doing that, over the GMPP has made more power.

Long story of the short, not being able to take it apart does not benefit the porter.

That's not the point. There should be a lot more than port matching.
