well it would make a little sense if its saying lean because he is getting a little more air flow maybe?

maybe he just needs to drive it a bit and the computer will learn the ls6 intake.

Yes. You are correct. Vaccuum leak is the culprit. Make sure the gaskets are all good and that the intake is torqued properly. Also, make sure all vaccuum and PCV hoses are connected and routed properly.

I think you have an intake leak b/c of the gaskets? Did you buy new ones? Or are you using the stock crushed ones?

Try using some carb cleaner spray and spray some around the area of the seal, one area at a time, and if there is a short change in engine RPM's, then you've got a vacuum leak at the area you just sprayed.

Check all of the hose, even at the power brake booster. Did you check your MAP sensor, Throttle body, etc ?

Good luck

That makes sense...air was getting in without the MAF sensor seeing it, and the O2's were forcing a large correction hence the code. If the car were speed density it wouldn't have thrown the code...which would make it harder to know there's a vacuum leak.

I reused the stock LS6 gaskets when I swapped heads/cam and have had no problems. Mine looked pretty good so I saw no reason for new ones.

OK got the 2nd intake install over with now..

let it warm up, took it out and drove a little bit , no codes but still runs a little rough.... would this be the computer trying to relearn everything from unplugging the battery, and if so how long does it usually take ?

THANKS for all your replys

I would guess so, mine ran a little rough every time Ive disconnected the battery(lid install, header install, and Im expecting the same when I finish the intake install). If it doesnt smooth out after a few days then Id worry...

My suggestion to anyone installing a used LS6 intake is to install new gaskets. Once the intake has been put onto a car the gaskets conform to the torque specs and the heads of that specific car.
