I've been looking into the professional products typhoon intake for a while. They claim to have similar horsepower gains in the top rpms to "a leading producer of aluminum intakes with ls6 type designs" and to produce an additional 17.7 horsepower at the wheels and the mid to lower rpms. Not to mention they look damn good. Does anyone on here have any experience with these intakes? Thanks guys.

 

Some people had good luck with them. Some people had a lot of problems with them when they first came out. I think most of it was poor machine work at first. It seems as if most, if not all, of the problems have been corrected.

 

I would like to hear more about this intake! Where do I find them?

Reason for selling? And how much? Also, would it work well with an 85mm throttle body on an LS1? PM sent. If I don't buy it from you, I'm probably gonna get an 85mm polished finish.

 

Pro Products has the 85 MM version for the LS1. 96 MM for the LS2.

I have the 96 MM intake on mine. Gained 23 HP over my Stock LS2 intake

Had a gain of 9 HP when I ported my Stocker. Then installed the 96MM and gained 14 HP over the ported LS2. TOTAL of 23 HP over the stock unit.

If you put the 96 on your car, you will need a bigger TB,

 

yea i was wondering about these too, do they come with the egr provision thing, and where's the cheapest place to pick one up?

 

They also make the 96MM that will fit an LS1. You just have use thicker injector o-rings where they go into the intake. That's what I had on my car for a short time.

 

right or wrong? would this intake be better for nitrous applications in case of a backfire?

 

You won't have to worry about it blowing apart.

 

I'm going with the 85mm polished and the 85mm throttle body for it when I get it.

They also just came out with a 96 & 101 MM throttle body for the LS1

 

A friend of mine installed the 85 MM Typhoon on his LS1 GTO. If I remember correctly he gained 13 HP & 18 RWTQ over the LS1 unit

 

Do you got dyno graph over lays? That doesnt sound much better than an ls6 but id love to see how his curve looked.

 

Wait...that's a swap with a ls6 intake right? That's pure awesome. This is definitely something I'm gonna do in the fall.

 

The ls1 GTOs came with LS6 intakes. That's OVER the LS6

 

can somebody please tell me if this has the egr hole, i was an idiot and put headers on and kept the air and egr

 

so just plug the holes

 

This doesn't have EGR provisions. Your best bet is to either remove the EGR system completely, which is a favorite among tech residents, and buy block off plates for your headers. Or you could just plug the tube that goes into the intake.
