Default Couple questions about FAST 92 intakes

Was thinking about doing this mod over the winter. Feel stupid because I just wasted a bunch of money on a ported and powdercoated TB for my LS1, but I guess that's the way she goes.

I'd like to keep EGR just because our area is pretty dam strict on emissions and I'd rather not take any chances.

So is there just an area you can open up on the FAST so egr will work? I thought I seen a picture of a hole in the front you can pop out.

Also, my car is basically just stock right now, just a lid, diablo programmer, SSRA and loudmouth 1. Is a fast 92 going to hurt low end torque as compared to an LS6 intake? (only other mods I have planned at this time are american racing headers)

That is one thing I don't want to lose any of....if there is a possibility of that I would rather just go with the LS6...plus that would prevent me from having to sell my fancy throttle body I just bought.

One last question, when I purchase one of these it sounds like a need to purchase some sort of coolant crossover kit. Anything else I need to get to make everything work? Gaskets for example?

Thanks!

stick with the ls6 intake. no sense wasting all that money on a bolt on car.

you'll need the coolant crossover pipes with the ls6 as well.

I vote you should get an ls6 as well, BUT if your future plans include heads and can or potentially nitrous I would get the FAST, most notably for nitrous. Get burst panels in the FAST to prevent it from blowing out your hood in the event a nitrous backfire occurs like many ls6s have done. Buying one and planning for future upgrades won't hurt. Keep that in mind.

oh and if you absolutely need to keep your EGR for emissions. SLP sells the LS6 intake with the provisions for the EGR.

it will cost more, but its still a good deal.

Lingenfelter used to sell an adapter for about $50 so you could pick up a used LS6 and save a few bucks. Not sure if they still do but worth a call.
