Default Expected install time?

I'm hoping I'm going to be able to get all of this done in one day when I come home from college in mid February. For a knowledgeable gear head mechanic with all tools and a lift at his disposal with a friend to help, what would the expected time for removal of AIR, EGR and install of Pacesetter LTs, TSP true duals, and 3.73 gears?

Air/EGR will coincide with the headers so just a couple extra minutes. I say 4 hours for the headers/emissions, and 2 hours for exhaust. And gears shouldn't take long at all with the proper tools hour or so. (Make sure you do it right!!)

4+2+1.5= 7.5 hours. Thats less than a day at work. These times are assuming there is noinvolved

2 days would work. Me and my friend are heading back here on a weekend in February. He needs to install 3.73s in his and I need to do a ton of work on mine. I would be able to start until noon on that Saturday.

Ha ha, if that's the case then me and my friend can drive home that night. He's gonna be in his LT4 and I'm gonna be in my Cobra killer LS1, so we should have some fun on the highway night driving. Thanks. I don't think there will be drinking involved, but a lot of goofing off.

My dad owns an automotive shop, the reason for the 3 hour drive from college. 4 lifts and most any tool you can imagine.

If you know what ur doing and ur bolts will come out easy for the headers, that part should take like 2-4hrs, the gears prob around the same im not sure on that. but expect 6-12hrs worth of work it all depends on how easy the **** comes out.

yeah i thought that gears themself would take about 5 hours in just double checking. And headers can take anywhere from 2 hours to 12

If you've never done gears before it will take a while...save them for another day. The rest won't be bad...headers are easy on a lift.

You might be able to get it done, but if you need the car I would wait on the gears. They can really range in the amount of time for install. You can install them once and they could be set up right, or you could have to install and remove them many times before the gears are set up right. Been there and done that trying to get work done in 1 day. If something goes wrong Sunday night at 6 pm, then you are stuck.

Default install time

it will prolly take you a day alone to do the headers if you run into all of the minor issues that most have. if you get by clean youll make the headers about a 4 hour job and the rest of the exhuast work might take up the rest of the day. the egr will take no time at all but it will prolly be a 2 day job in the end

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:38 AM.
