i'm not a dyno expert, but i assume you would lose about 5-8rwhp with the stock catback.. just a guess on my part but you wouldnt gain hp because the stock catback will be more restricting than running without a catback,

I think I remember seeing a guy with longtubes and with an aftermarket Y and a cutout right after it in the single pipe section, then the stock catback. He got it dyno'd and I think he gained almost 20hp just from opening the cutout instead of sending it through the stock catback... I'll try and find the thread, I could be murdering that story pretty good... Bottom line is your gonna lose power going back to the stock catback...

it would go like this...or close to it...depending on the catback:
stock catback = 20hp loss
aftermarket catback = 5-10hp loss
if you want to go cheap, and stay stealthy....put a few feet of 3" pipe off the Ypipe, into a 3" cutout, then your stock catback.
quiet when you want it, loud and power when you want it.

if you dont care about the raspy sound then keep the y-pipe, but then if you do add a catback then you will fix the back pressure problem that some people run into about the car not returning to idle very quickly.
