If there are no provisions in the TB, then the easiest way to supply the PCV with fresh air is to tap into the intake elbow with a barbed fitting, just like MM has pictured.

Got it! I can drill into my Spectre Intake (aluminum) tube and connect it to the passenger side connection. Why install the connection there? Why not behind the TB blade, like in the elbow? Just curious that's all.

Thank you sir!

Aluminum probably isn't the ideal material to tap into. Is there a coupler that you could tap into?

Putting both the inlet and outlet of the PCV in the manifold behind the throttle blade equalizes pressure and pretty much stops the flow. There is less negative pressure in front of the throttle blade, which allows the greater negative pressure from the return hose to pull fresh air from the intake tube.

The PCV is most effective at idle when the blade is nearly closed and the pressure differences are greatest.

some that make aftermarket couplers have a port molded into them as well.

what is very important to NOT DO in general, is to delete something just because you don't understand it. thats a quick way to get yourself into trouble. research it. understand it, then decide what to do.
And that is why I am on here asking questions. I didn't/don't understand the system and how it plays a key role in the performance and longevity of the motor.
Thanks for the help. I will make those modifications this weekend!

Cheers!

Yes, but it too is thin aluminum! I like the idea of tapping into the elbow, it's thicker, is that just not in my best interest?

You'll need something that can engage more than one thread.

Might be a good idea to grab one of those LG couplings with the fitting already in there. Like the Mouse sent a pic of.

So I routed the Driver Side PCV connection to the Passenger side connection. I installed a Tee to connect both lines and routed that line to the intake tube between the MAF and the throttle body.
I still have the LS6 Valley Cover connection going to the catch can and from the catch can to the intake. Hope I understood your directions!

By driver's side PCV connection, is there an actual PCV valve there? Or are you just saying that the fresh air inlet now goes to both valve covers? The valley cover port to can to intake sounds correct.

Yes, the drivers side has a built in PCV, or at least I think its a PCV, hell it might be a Nitrous inlet!!
The link you posted shows the valve covers I have;

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...fo-needed.html

There are 4 pictures in Post #2.
The 1st pic in Post #2 shows two valve covers, I have the '04 5.3L on the Drivers Side that has the built in PCV or built in fixed orifice restricter.
The 2nd Pic in Post #2 shows two valve covers, I have the one with the black oil filler neck.
Post #12 has the Pic of what I am striving for in my setup.

Ok, I see now. I didn't realize the 5.3 DS valve cover had a fixed orifice restriction, I just assumed it was another fresh air inlet. In that case, post #10 may be more relevant to your scenario. It's effectively doubling up on the PCV outlets, which I can't see as being a problem. It may be beneficial if they split the draw pressures so as to not suck oil as much.

Had a friend of mine weld a bung in the aluminum intake tube between the TB and the MAF. Then I installed a 3/8 barbed fitting with a hose to the passenger side clean air port. Then I hooked up the drivers side built in fixed orifice connection port to the LS6 valley cover port (with a tee) and routed that to the Mike Norris Catch can. From there I installed a hose from the can to the connection on the side of the intake.
Seems to be working as advertised, I will be tunning the motor in a couple of weeks and see what it makes.

Thanks!

I know this is a bit old.... But, had 2 questions. I just recently installed an LS6 manifold and EliteEngineering catch can. I left valve cover plumbing as stock. Is it really advisable to plug the pass side and only draw from the drivers side? Also, is it best to run a conventional PCV valve instead if the orificed style?

The LS7 driver side valve cover already has an orifice built in. I would run from there to the catch can from the can to the intake manifold. On the passenger port run it to the throttle body or to the elbow/bellow between the MAF and TB.

Plumbing is stock so you have two ports on the passenger valve cover correct?

Yes, correct. I just merely wanted to see if how I plumbed this and if the orificed PCV valve was most ideal/efficient. I’ve been out of the LS game for a while. Last catch can I installed was on my old 99 Silverado.

Didn’t really say anything. I went off routing on my old truck.
