I agree SLP LM leaves much to be desired, considering its price tag and there isn't even a muffler to raise the price. I want a GMMG

Wait a minute. You are seriously going to compare LM and GMMG by price? GMMG sounds awesome, but not worth twice the price of LM. Am I missing something here?

My friend had loud mouth 2 on his ls1 when he changed to magnaflow I installed it on my LT1 and a day later bought a magnaflow cat back. On a LT1 it sounds like a hillbilly truck with straight pipes on a ls1 it sounded a little cleaner both car's running longtubes and y pipes with no cats. Hey but if you like loud exhaust go with the slp iff you like smooth tone go with magnaflow. As far as performance couldn't tell a difference.

Mine fitted fine. The tips (dual singles) that came with definitely were right size. And as far as price mine was less than $300 shipped so you cant get any cheaper than that.

Most people dont know anything about loudmouths, like flowmasters. Just a bad internet rep. I remember one guy started a thread asking if flowmaster flowed worse than stock an a lot of people put yes. Idiots.

As far as sound it sounds good on an unmodified exhaust with cats and all. It doesnt sound anything like a truck, not at all. It has a very loud deep roar to it. However, I have a m6 and it will be very loud in an a4 on the highway. With music turned on (and not very loud) you cant here it going 75 mph in 6th gear, but in 5th you sure would. However, I have heard of his with gmmg as well which is also loud so to be fair people bashing that are also bashing the ever loud gmmg. Not that i wouldnt rather have gmmg, but seriously people can be ridiculus.

Well my plan is to run a CATTED Y Pipe, along with a set of long tubes. Every clip i've heard is that of a catless Y and the SLP LM1/2

thats your opinion on the sound. some like to have a loud car. i've had a LM1 since 2004 and i paid $50 to have it installed in under an hour. but you're probably just going off of what you read instead of actual experience with this cat-back.

OP- if you installed 25 of these succesfully on f-bodies without the issues you had on yours why didnt you call SLP and tell them what was wrong with it? you probably could have sent that one back and got one that fits like it is supposed to.

I am running the LM1 with Pacesetters, a TSP catted Y and a lunati cam. It's loud but it sounds really mean too. I like it and get a lot of compliments on it.
