*NEW* FAST LSX Intake Manifold

Anyone read about this? Looks to be better than sheet metal and LS6.

yea its been all around the board. do a search and you can find lots of good info and pics of it as well. this is on the mods to do list for me.

I heard its made out of plastic?Could this melt?Is it weaker then other manifolds?

No, it is supposed to be much stonger. The LS1 and LS6 manifolds are also made out of plastic. I just want some power info on it. I think that is my next mod.

They are coming out very soon.

They are supposed to be a three piece composite design.

I am hearing that pricing might be around $800.

I heard the power increase is the same.The only thing it is way lighter.

No one but the manufacturer has dyno'd it and it gave 15 RWHP on an LS1 and 10 RWHP on an LS6. There's much more to the intake than it being lighter. Do a search and read the article about all the research and R&D that went into it.

They are not technically "plastic". GM often refers to the LS1 and LS6 manifolds as "composite". They are actually made out of a material called Nylon 66. It is a mixture of Nylon and chopped glass to make it rigid and strong. Uless you set the car on fire, it won't melt.

Yeah, I called it "plastic" too, especially when the LS1 first came out to make fun of it. When I learned what an awesome motor it was, I quickly stopped making fun of it.

Can anyone verify this statement?? Call me crazy but it seems like the Nasty Performance, Futral, and more performance intakes would produce more power for obvious reasons. Opinions?

Personally man you are not going to see any noteciable gain going to that intake, unless you have the 98-00 intake. The LS6 intake is the best bang for the buck and unless you are planning on stroker/big bore or H/C i wouldnt fool with anything except the LS6. Im also very skeptical about the new F.A.S.T intake. Just my .02
