Just got these from Maryland Speed:

Kooks 1-7/8" headers (race), Jet Hot coated (their 1700* extreme sterling finish). These will replace my 1-3/4" Kooks headers.
I'd highly recommend Maryland Speed - it was a great price, and great service. Thanks guys (and the gal that helped me over the phone)!

B-E-A-Utiful bro !! Those sure look nice. How power do you think you will gain, any loss under the curve, or more power everywhere ??
Best of luck, please post results when done. Thanks, and damn they are shiny !!

Oh...let's see here.
1. The coating was mainly for bling, and I'll see if the underhood temps are a little lower as a nice added benefit. The old Kooks headers were getting ugly, and it always kinda bothered me, although they worked perfectly fine. I'll see how this coating holds up.
2. The other Kooks will be sold once I get these installed.
3. I'm expecting a loss down low, but I'll see how the tune needs to be changed once I get them on. I plan on making sure the tune is spot on for the 1-3/4" headers (I tune it open loop, speed density, so all the fueling comes from the VE table), and then I'll tune it with the 1-7/8" headers and see where it needs more/less fuel. Not entirely scientific, and I'm sure it isn't a direct correlation, but I'm curious to see how it changes. I doubt I'll throw it on a dyno though...I just don't care that much.
4. The car as it stands is basically full bolt-ons (EWP, tuned by me, full exhaust with custom true duals [I'll post a pic in a sec], still LS6 intake/ported TB), a built drivetrain (built T-56, carbon fiber driveshaft, RPS clutch, Strange 12-bolt with 4.11s), and full suspension (Strano's/Koni's going on before these headers). Stock cam, stock heads - but these headers are meant for future plans (427+ c.i. in a couple years). I'm building the foundation first, and putting the engine in last.
My guesstimate on RWHP/RWTQ would be 350ish/350ish.

These are old pics of my exhaust (and there are some older parts in these pics, like the old 10-bolt), but this is what will go after the headers. 3" into the x-pipe, 2.5" after the x, over the axle and through the CME tips.

Your foundation is a good idea. I did something similar back in 06. I built up the driveline and brakes. I added an exedy twin, cf drive shaft, stg III dte with brace, and wilwood sl-6 front brakes w/slotted super cool rotors. I also add the lg supercool rad. with built in oil cooler. Did it because I knew I wanted a 402 in a couple years. Great minds think a like.

I got an ewp too, but mine is red. Red anodized would've looked nice under your hood considering all the other red, but anodize grey is just fine too. Engine bay is pretty clean.

Meh - it's a work in progress. I don't usually show it off too much, but it's getting to be presentable. Just trying to show folks some options out there...
Looks good.thinking the same as you.building the foundation 1st but Im doing it on both cars.saving up now on a lsx454 goin on the m6.

Been there - my car was stock until I graduated from college, and stayed pretty mildly modded until 4.5 years after I graduated when I got my truck and could leave it parked in a garage to finally build it to be what I wanted. It'll come all in good time.
Meent, out of curiosity what kind of torque arm is that? Also did you notice anything different after you installed your carbon fiber driveshaft? IE less vibrations or anything of that nature.. Oh and by the way the headers look awesome, im thinking about getting some 1 7/8 ARH's in the very near future, because like you im gonna build a big cube motor down the line and am building the foundation for it.
