Hey I'm looking at getting some true duals for my Camaro. Are any of you guys using this universal x-pipe from summit?

How much extra work is needed to get these to fit up to hooker long tubes on an ls1? I can do all of the clamping myself, I just can't use a pipe bender. So how much should I expect to pay for a shop to fit them up to longtubes? Also I am planning to having them dump. And again I can do everything but bend the pipes to the headers.

i have this same exhaust on my car and this is another i built this past weekend for a buddy of mine. the mufflers are so close for ground clearance reasons and they tuck under the driveshaft very tight. the only way for this to be accomplished is with a custom made torque arm which me and him both have. but it gives you an idea.....hard to even see the summit x pipe left in there aint it??![The Jester](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_jest.gif)

take a look at the pic of the TSP true duals and compare that to the universal X pipe pics.

The headers do not exit at the same angles or in the same locations under our cars and because of the limited space under the cars it will require a lot of cutting up of that X pipe to get it to work. you will not be able to just open the box up and clamp any of it on to the car at all.

i built my TDs with the summit X. i did the "curves" on my back in the driveway...with hand tools to cut them at the right angles. didn't deal with bending.
i had an exhaust shop do the final welds.
3" tubing, magnaflow 4x9 mufflers
what i had to do to the front of the driver's side to mate up to my flowtechs...which have the collectors tucked up a ways.

whole setup:

from behind....the drivers side muffler hangs low because i had to rush to get it welded. i had Hurricane Wilma 3-days away and needed an exhaust on the car. with a little time on a lift, a grinder and welder...i could get it fixed.

video clips
straight pipes...no mufflers

same day, camera position.....for comparison...its still loud enough to hear from 300ft away idling

I would just buy the tsp true duals, but their a little pricey and I want to run some single chamber flows compared to bullets. I'm just going to probably buy the x pipe and then do the dumps myself and then take the rest to a shop and have them bend it up to fit the headers. Does anybody know if you have to move the factory fuel lines?

alright anybody else got any more info? like I said i'm going to clamp on the mufflers on myself and then take it to a shop and have them bend it up to my headers. Does anybody know how much they would probably charge for that?
