Default which ORY..

Ok, I currently have a stock (minus the lid) 2001 SS with the dual/dual catback. I want to get rid of the hideous restricting stock Y-pipe...I have plans to get headers later. My question to you is..

Can I buy a new ORY and have it put onto the stock exhaust and then later moved to the same exhaust with headers? Will it change the sound? Will there be any difference in power?

Thankyou for the answers in advanced.

bassani and slp make one i believe but it wont increase power by alot and they are not universal y pipes when you go from stock manifolds to headers unless you go with shorties but thats a waste and wont gain you alot. wait until you do LTs and do it all at once it will save you money and labor

If your plans are for long tube headers, I would wait on the y-pipe, as you cannot re-use the same y-pipe u would use with stock manifolds for long tube headers. Headers and y-pipe (or X/H pipe depending on your application) are just something u do together... like PB&J.

yep wait for the headers then get a custom y pipe made.
no matter what brand you go with evey car is a little different so the all dont fit the same from car to car so a custom y pipe is the way to go.
