Default Witch headers? Lpp or hooker

I cant decide on witch race headers i want. The 1 3/4 LPP's are polished stainless steal with stainless o/r y pipe both for $600 shipped. The 1 3/4 HOOKERS are coated for $380 with 02 ext's and $180 for o/r y = $560 shipped. What headers do you recommend?

LPP have been ordered, and no shipping charges so maybe the hookers are the same price if they charge shipping.

The hookers have free shipping also. So what was your total for the LPP's?

Just get pacesetters with a tsp y pipe. They fit great and they are cheap. But if you feel the need to spend big money, go with some ARH headers.

I just got my LPP headers and they sweet. They are going in on Monday. The quality was impressive and we will see how the fitment is. I will post the results later. I do not think you can go wrong with a polished/stainless header for under $600 shipped.

i bought some used XS power headers, the previous owner said he got them from LPP. idk about steel headers, have you seen used stainless vs. coated? yeah the stainless turns all sorts of colors, but rust isnt one of them. id say go stainless, and then when you resell them (if ever) youd have a better chance of getting more money back.

LPP here, no reason not to. they are stainless, they now have an HVMC, the customer service is good. in that price range, id do them again.

Go LPP for stainless. I got ceramic coated headers about a year ago and they have a lot of surface rust. wish LPP came out with there LS1 LTs sooner...

I had the same question with a poll on here recently, here's the link: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...vs-hooker.html. I went with LPP. I just got them Thursday and I'm putting them on in a couple of weeks. For about the same price, how could you pass up a deal for stainless? Also, I've heard very good things about the fitment on them and all the LS1 guys with them so far have been happy. Also, they've got the merge and spike too which the Hookers don't. My brother just bought a 98 SS that has pacesetters on there and just were just installed like last summer and there is ready a little surface rust on the ory and headers and it hasn't been driven in salt or anything.

Also, a big factor for me is Hooker doesn't make a race header. I know you said you wanted a race header, so if you do, Hooker isn't a choice, you would have to get block off plates.

Hope that helps.

I had mine installed and there were minor issues. Several of the stock plug wires did not want to fit on the driver side with the lpp headers installed. The boots rested directly on the headers and one would not even go on at all. It took alot longer to finish the job than expected. We had to use several msd's wires with the heat shield which still might not work. Am still not sure if i would do it again??? Anybody else whith this problem?
