Default FAST 92 Install Help

I might be able to pick up a Fast 92 manifold and TB for a real good price. What will be needed to install this set up? Are the Fast fuel rails necessary? I assume that I will need a bigger MAF and air lid? Is the AC Delco 85mm MAF a good choice? Will the stock bellows and coupler work? Would having the manifold ported be worth the money (mods in sig)? Any recommendations on someone for that? Cost? Would a Nick Williams TB (or another) be a better choice? I really appreciate any advice.

Texas speed has good deals on intake/tb combo. As for the new air lid, you can run the stock MAF and stock lid it will bolt right up. The stock fuel rails will work just fine, its a direct bolt on

stock rails work just fine.

no need for a bigger maf and lid, you CAN get them, but you don't need them.

search for my thread in the dyno section, installed a home ported FAST 90/90 and picked up 18hp and 12ftlbs with a CAM ONLY car.

port it yourself, much cheaper.

I am sitting on the porch enjoying our nice weather porting mine as we speak.

I am borrowing a dremel later, so today I've just been sanding down all the casting flash best I can with 100 grit paper. Going to go back over it later with some 300 and possibly 1000. See how it feels first.

Is it obvious on how much material to remove?

Why does everyone think you "must" port these intakes lately???

Just bolt it on....I did on a completely stock engine and made 21rwhp.

This debate could go on until the end of time with good arguments on both sides, this is one you seriously have to research for your self and make up your own mind.

I don't think it has to be ported, but I don't have anything to do and can't put it on until I get my hands on a throttle body so it's as close to playing with the new toy and I can get.

Besides, not like it costs anything. There are some large bumps in the runners that obviously need to go. Other than that I've just been cleaning up casting flash to reduce turbulance more than anything.

Texas speed does have good deals on the intake but about your MAF you dont need it. just tune the car with out one.The Fast rails are good to have also. You can order them from Texas speed they come with the hardwear and a gauge for around 200. the install kit(braded Hoses) they come seprate if im not mistaken. But when you do change the intake change out the vally bolts or your gonna have a $800 fast intake with 12 holes in it.

The downside to SD is changing weather conditions. In some parts of the country MAF really helps keep the tune correct!
