and... if it helps, here's how I busted my number 8 free... i'm pretty sure it was the stock plug at ~90000 miles. it was at least didn't match the other seven plugs in the car

Take your ratchet, get it on the spark plug real well, and make sure it isn't falling.
Grab a 7-foot long piece of pipe and put it over the handle of the ratchet, and then do a pull-up. lol. i was off the ground for three seconds before it popped.

I'll keep you guys updated when I start pulling them and post pictures of what each of them look like... I'm hoping this will solve the case of my sputtering/backfiring at WOT

Just read post #21 again, thats how you will break them free with little effort. Its how I did mine the first time and I swear Arnold Schwarzenegger was the person who put them in.

Try PB Blaster, works great on freeing up metal parts, ive used it on quite a few suspension and exhaust components and it works wonders

I have not read the whole thread but are the coil packs removed and air tubes?
Is it #8 your having problem with ?
If so stand on the battery ( but if your 300 lb's don't ) get your socket and wrench on real good and try and wack the wrench with your hand and it may just brake it loose.

I can't see a spark plug being broke off into an aluminum head. Now if it was a cast iron head, it could be possible. I would get the engine warm, hit it with some penetrating spray and let that soak for 10-15 minutes then go for it. Either way, it has to come out.
