Default LS6 Intake Swap Help

So last night i tackled swapping the LS1 intake for an LS6 one.

I usually don't try things like this myself but needed to this time.

I got the fuel rails and everything else off, the bolts are being help up by clothes pins. The old intake is lose, but i have not disconnected anything in the back of it yet, nor have i slid if forward.

I do not want to break the Oil Pressure unit back there. (It will take 1 week to get a new one, and my car is going in for a tune and more mods this weekend)

What do i do now. Slide the intake forward? Then get behind it? Or, do i need to disconnect something before i slide it at all?

Thanks for any help!

If all the bolts are pulled up and out, the intake should just slide forward.

What you want to do is gently slide ot forward just enough to disconnect the MAP sensor harness and the vacuum lines for the HVAC and brake booster.

Once those are disconnected, it should slide right out, no snags.

i disconnected my brake line at the booster...not the manifold.

was able to snake it out easier than trying to remove the hose clamp.

just lift the intake up before pulling out.

My brake line to the booster is off, and i have positioned the hose properly.

Do you have a picture of the unit that is breaking? It's on the outside in the back right?

Ok..got it all off..everything seems ok.

To be honest, i am not even sure which part was the OPS.

Now.i will take the ribs off the bottom of the ls6 intake and start putting her back together.

The OPS will not break if you disconnect the brake booster line at the brake booster first. Then just pull the intake up at the back of it and clear the OPS. The opposite when reinstalling it. Make sure you hook up the other rear connectors before sliding it all the way back, makes the reinstall go faster.
