Stock Catback too restrictive for my mods?

Default Stock Catback too restrictive for my mods?

Full bolt on's with a MS3 cam, ported TB etc. I had the LM1 on it, but with the MS3 it was way too loud so today I put my stock SLP catback back on and it made it sound much better but The car has been dyno tuned with the LM1 and im wondering if the stock muffler is restricting it too much....

When you say "stock SLP" catback is the stock F-body catback with the HUGE muffler? Or is it the SLP dual/dual catback? If it's a stock F-body muffler than yes, you're losing about 25-30 rwhp through it. If it's a dual/dual muffler, then no you're not losing much.

Its the one that came with my car....its 3", then dual out the muffler (2.5") into the SLP Center Mount tips...The muffler itself is pretty long.

Its stainless steel if that helps. I dont know if they are stainless or not...the muffler itself is 21" long.

Over 140 RWHP and over 60 RWTQ is damn good with boltons and a cam. Hmm curious. And yes the stock exhaust(non loudmouth etc) will be restrictive to you since being tuned with the better flowing system.

Look on your door code sticker. Does it say Y2Y? If it says Y2y, it should be the dual/dual.

3 inch is the same as the aftermarket kits. You should be fine.

Not really.
I have a 02 SS with the Y2Y and WU8 RPO codes.


Heres the day I brought it home with the pea shooters.


Heres the stock muffler, 21-22" long with a 2 3/4" intermediate pipe.


Heres the SLP Dual/Dual I bought brand new from SLP in 2004. It has a 3" intermediate pipe.


I did call SLP and they told me my build number and the date it arrived and left.

If it looks like the muffler being measured then yes. If it looks like the one with the CME then no. It sounds like you have the good one.

the slp dual/dual flows just as good if not better than all aftermarket 3 inch catbacks. i have slp dual dual and cut outs in my y pipe. i gained 1 mph at the track and that what it. i say it flows pretty damn good

I agree 100%.

My ET/MPH is the same with closed SLP dual/dual catback, or open cutout...

Just change the muffler for a Hooker or do a cut out for the stock one. Call it a day.
