Default Truck intake questions

Thanks to our new improved search... I need to ask a question i know has been answered here.

Will the truck intake off the 5.3 fit under the stock f-body hood? Also what all trucks have a viable intake? As in do the 4.8's have the same intake?

i have read in several places that it is at least "comparable" to an ls6 intake. I am sure I can pick one up for next to nothing.

Correct me if im wrong but it is a direct swap for me isnt it?

Any other viable info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sorry to bring up ask and answered questions.

Forget the hood, theres no way it would clear the cowl.
At least not without some major modifications, cutting, lowering the K-member etc.

The truck intake runs out of breath around 5500rpm. Once past 4500 rpm....you can watch the flow numbers drop VS a LS6 intake pretty drastically. Even a LS1 intake will run better on the top end than a truck intake. FYI....all truck intakes are the same runner and plenum size, from the 4.8 all the way up to the LQ9 HO 6.0. Just injector sizes change, and different year manifolds will have various EGR and EVAP differences depending on the application and vehicle year.
