Default 85mm maf questions

Ok I have a 98 trans am and have heard that we have problems with these bigger mafs. Is that true or just a myth? also on the delphi 25168491 for the wiring adapter can I just get any adapter from any maf manufacture for the 5 to 3 pin conversion if not which one do I need to get? thanks a lot

There are 2 ways to go when you get an adapter.

the 85mm MAF has a built in IAT sensor. With that being said, you can get the harness adapter with out the IAT built into the harness like the one you posted. Or you can get one with the IAT built in the adapter like the one that Fast Toys sells

ok then ill get the one I posted. just found a delphi dirt cheap so I figured I would upgrade.

That means you will have to keep the IAT sensor in your lid.

I chose to get the IAT built into the harness so that i do not have to drill in my lid..

its a stock lid so its not like its a big deal.
