What will i gain if i install LS6 intake?

Default What will i gain if i install LS6 intake?

i own a 2000 camaro ls1. what will i gain if i install an ls6 intake. someone told me i needed to install the heads along with it to gain anything. is this person correct or will i gain te most just by installing the intake because i am always on a strict budget and these intakes aint cheap. Please help!

i picked up 4 rwhp and lost 4 rwtq. its the whole volume vs velocity thing. youll pick up 1-2 tenths and 1-2 mph at the track. dont worry about dyno numbers. just worry about your ET at the track

The LS6 intake is a great mod. Take a look at LS1howto.com They installed a LS6 intake on a STOCK 2000 Camaro and with no other changes picked up 24rwhp and 14ftlbs. So thats about 30 hp at the crank and even more if you decide to go with heads and a cam,etc.

It's a great mod for the $$. And it will work well with heads/cam/headers later if you do any or all of them.

I saw about .05 at the track, .5 mph. Gained some mid-range torque and improved driveability. That was before LT's. The gain might have been more dramatic if they were already on.
