Question Going from BBK IM and Stock TB to 92/92 setup...

what kinda power gains do you guys think I'd make going from my BBK SSI intake manifold w/stock TB to a 92/92 setup (Fast and Nick Williams)?

mods are in my sig/sig pic

although I hate even imagining paying for that overpriced piece of plastic gold... it's really one of the only mods I have left on the table for this engine...

then my money will go elsewhere...

i think instead of that youd get more power from a slightly larger cam, a friend of mine had that 224 cam on a 6.0 block too and it was so small it idled even untuned

trust me... i've been told to upgrade more times than I can count

problem is... i'll likely be moving to CA soon and i hear a 224 is the largest you can go and still pass emissions...

or u could also upgrade injectors. I had a friend who picked up 50rwhp on dyno with a retune after fast intake, 48 lb injectors and a 255lb fuel pump. Car was way faster. before different intake and mods he was at like 425 rwhp

yea... i mean technically, there's no way my entire engine will even come close to passing CA emissions

but if I add cats the the LT's and find a "dirty" emissions shop... that won't look at the whole "visual inspection" then if my car will perhaps pass the sniffer, hopefully I won't have a problem...

my cam 224/224 .581 .581 114LSA

vs.

your cam 228/230 .588/.592 112 LSA

If you are not going over 6500 with that cam , I dont think I would swap.

I seen a better dyno number with my ported fast 90 over my ls6 ported tb but never ran better at the track.

I may put a ls6 intake on my Trans am again and use the Fast 90 on my nova that spins to 7200.

I think bbk makes a 85 mm tb for that intake and so does Summit/trickflow . That is what I would do and just stay with the bbk.

def port it

and with your power levels....on a 6L engine...you should EASILY see 20hp

as i've posted many times...i got 18hp at 6300rpm over my ls6...and i was making less than 400rwhp.

i have no doubt you'll pick up power in the lower rpm as well....like i did.

good to know guys... i'm trying to get as close as possible to 500 rwhp then I think I'll be happy lol...

dunno if i'll be able to hit it... but I figure a 92/92 setup, and maybe a larger cam down the road might get me closer to it

got mine from summit for about $580 i think.

it is pretty pricey...but like YOU said...you're running out of things to modify for power.

engine will run cooler, and you'll gain from power

youll prob see a 10 to 15 gain with that cam and switching to a fast i think im nearing the limit of the bbk i just got back from the dyno early today and made the nubers in my sig

im happy with them but theres ares for improvment i have the cam and heads to flow more but it kept peeking at 6300 on motor and 6000 on spray and droping off when i think my combo should be peeking at about 6600 to 6800 and hold its power to 7000 i like the bbk but i think thats whats holding it back

That's what I was thinking. If I had 446.2rwhp I would be satisfied. Well no, after a while I guess I wouldn't LOL.
