Slp lid...... Good choice and smart early mod. Make sure you get the one with the round outlet and not the oval

why is this? something to do with the redesigned one that slp came out with recently? Does anyone have a slp lid that does NOT rub?

I found the gm high tech article it was back in Nov of 06, and was called flipping our lids. The stock run was 13.12 performance was a best of 12.92 w the MTI lid and a 12.94 w the SLP lid coming in second. They were all abs plastic except the SLP witch was polypropylene, and had the best finish and fit & seal.

so the cars were BONE stock, other than the lid(s)? Thats actually not that bad of an improvement for one small mod. Difference between running 13's and now, 12's. Im willing to bet it was a late model F-Body tho.

Anyone here have the new re-designed slp lid that is supposed to fix the whole rubbing against the hood ordeal?

Smooth bellow doesn't do ****. It's been tested many times. Use the 55 as beer money.

I'm not doubting your statement, but do you have any data to support it? Just curious. I'd like to see these tests. <=-)

it was a stock f-body w a lock fuel table so the ecm ran the same every pass and as for the smooth bellow it has been tested and wasnt worth anything i have one since i needed it when i did a swap but would have setteled for the stocker if it wasnt the same price after shipping and all. so use the money for a good oil change or something better

I have a complete intake upgrade for sale in the classifieds. Lid, bellows, FTRA, and LS6 intake. You'll feel lots of power from the whole setup. Good price too!

I think SLP lids are a little thin and flimsy.

Lids are definitely worth it, new or used. You get that nice inhaling sound when you put one on.

You should look out Fast Toys 85mm air lid. It is the largest volume and highest flowing intake lid on the market and the quality is excellent. We sell an adpater so you can use the stock MAF with the lid and then if you decide to upgrade to an 85mm MAF down the road, you just remove the adapter the 85mm MAF slides right into our lid.
