Im in the process of doing true duals so yeah im expecting some drone, but before that i had magnaflow with stock manifolds, and i drove that car all the way to st. ignace, and it didnt bother me a bit. Where at up north do you go? I have a cabin in Mio.

Just buy it dude! You'll love it! It's only a catback, no big deal. It's not going make your car hard to live with no matter what you get. It's all relative.

Everyone above is correct in their comments about the Magnaflow.

The clamps that came with mine sucked though.

LOL, I was just about to mention that my old 2000 Z had it on, and I think it sounded great.

I'm giving serious consideration to putting one back on the SS, to tone it down. There is a clip on here with a 400+ cube motor with LT & magnaflow, and it sounds great.

Im really looking for answers from people with ls1's, headers, and no internal mods, no cams, strokers, or forged goodies. As my car doesnt have any of that.

Do the tips need to be polished regularly? Seriously is it alot of work, or does it just take a quick wipe down?

I know its quiet at idle and sounds awesome when you step on it, but is it annoying when crusing, like on the freeway? Around 2000 to 2400? I cant stand exhausts that drone on the freeway, I spend lots of time on the freeway, I have a 40min drive to work everyday and its 2 hours one way up north, a good 90% of my miles are from the freeway and I dont want to hear an annoying drone all that time.

Anything at all you dont like about it or wish you could change?

Lastly, clips or videos? Most of the vids on ls1sounds are from cammed or stock cars with manifolds.
well i put one on a yr ago and took it off about a month ago just to see if i liked the sound. it was cool for all of 2 days then put the magnafkow back on. you will love it on the highway. its so quiet i used the phone all the time with no annoying drone. But when u feed it the weed it really wakes up. i get alot of complimentson the tone of the car.bottom line go for it!!!

Magnaflow and Hooker are considered to be the 2 quietest catbacks on the market. With that being said I think they are 2 best catbacks you can get.

I ran Pacesetter LT's, ORY and a Hooker and thought it sounded amazing. Their was no drone on the highway, barely any rasp even with an ORY, and it sounded mean as hell.

Magnaflows are the same way from what I have heard. They have a different tone than the Hooker but they are still very tame until you get into it hard.

I got one for sale that I can ship off at the first of the week. I just got a new dual system from TSP and its getting put on Saturday morning.. PM me if interested...

But, to answer your question. I loved the sound of my exhaust.. No drone whatsoever. Very quiet at idle and loud at WOT. If you put a cut-out on it, you get the best of both worlds. Loud as hell when you want it, regular note when you don't..

this is my car. hooker lt's/ory/magnaflow catback.

to answer your original questions, overall i love it. cleaning the tips isn't bad. exhaust is pretty tame under 2k rpm and then gets pretty frickin loud WOT. as for highway driving, around 2200 i start to get a little bit of drone. just turn up the radio a bit and it's gone. nothing terrible but it is there. about 2500 is when it starts to get pretty annoying.
