Magnaflow owners
Im thinking about going with this cat back but want to make sure this is what I want before spending the money.
Im really looking for answers from people with ls1's, headers, and no internal mods, no cams, strokers, or forged goodies. As my car doesnt have any of that.
Do the tips need to be polished regularly? Seriously is it alot of work, or does it just take a quick wipe down?
I know its quiet at idle and sounds awesome when you step on it, but is it annoying when crusing, like on the freeway? Around 2000 to 2400? I cant stand exhausts that drone on the freeway, I spend lots of time on the freeway, I have a 40min drive to work everyday and its 2 hours one way up north, a good 90% of my miles are from the freeway and I dont want to hear an annoying drone all that time.
Anything at all you dont like about it or wish you could change?
Lastly, clips or videos? Most of the vids on ls1sounds are from cammed or stock cars with manifolds.

magnaflow
i have alot of other crap, but nothing lilke heads cam, etc...
I Love it. I have heard many, many cat backs, the Magnaflow is my favorite. Its sophisticated when cruising (i have no drone, and highway crusin is not disrupted by it in anyway) and bad *** when your in it. so, you get the best of both worlds. My buddies 2000 TA has a loudmouth set up on it,,and while its very cool (and extremly loud, no cats i think with Hooker headers) it gets VERY raspy when he's in it, i have none of that.
tips just wipe off, very easy, i have the brushed lookin tips, dont know if there are different ones or not, my magnaflow was installed by its original owner, Nate from Nasty Performance

But I do like my exhaust note. Quiet at idle, and loud when going WOT. I wouldn't pay to change it to anything else.

first mod was an slp lid. then i installed the magnaflow on my 02 z28. it was very quiet at idle. pretty much sounded stock. but after getting it installed i was going WOT alot to get a feel, and i noticed a huge sotp difference. it felt more torquey i should say and this is with 2.73
. then i added pacesetter longtubes and ory, and it was still very quiet. but it does scream when u go WOT. i never had a problem with rasp or drone. i think this catback has a smooth crisp sound. now im cammed and it does sound good. overall, im happy with the catback being stainless steel and not over priced. you will be happy with the magnaflow for sure. As for cleaning the tips, I just wash them when I was the car. you can spray rim cleaner on them as well. No special cleaning required.
and yes I know camera quality sucks...

I have PaceSetter LT's, ORY, and the Magnaflow catback.
It has a nice throaty rumble under normal acceleration but SCREAMS when you stand on it. Idle is quiet, but sounds pretty mean (at least mine does).
There is absolutely NO drone what so ever, and all i do w/ my tips are wash them w/ soap and water and dry them off, and they're good-to-go. It probably wouldn't hurt to polish them every so often though.
Here is a clip of a rev to about 2k and then a rev to about 4,500-5k

The only other mods on this car are the poly motor mounts and FRA mod. MSD Wires and NGK TR-55GP Plugs.
