Default LS6 intake EGR Adaptor HELP

Can anyone help me find the ls6 egr adapter my ls6 intake? I can't find it anywhere. I was looking on ws6store.com and found this http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=2070 . Not sure if this is the brass fitting that goes on top of the intake. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not for sure what you are asking. The LS6 intake doesn't have an egr. The part on ws6 store is just the rubber gasket for the EGR pipe on the LS1 intake

Alright to clarify, I own a 98 SS with EGR. Last week I bought a LS6 intake which doesnt have a EGR hookup. I am looking for the piece that allows me to modify my LS6 intake to work with my current EGR system.

Oh I understand. I have never heard of anybody putting the EGR on an LS6 inatke. The top of the intake has no hole so I don't see how it's possible to put it on. I would just remove the EGR and have the codes turned off so you don't get a check engine light.

You are supposed to drill out a hole in the top of the intake. and put the brass fitting, you get from the kit in the hole to hookup the EGR. My only concern is since I live in California the smog ***** won't pass my car. I will have to swap intake manifolds every 2 years if i don't hookup the EGR to the LS6. I'm also worried that if i block off the EGR and use the LS6 intake that something bad like detonation will occur to my engine since I will be driving it without getting it tuned. Will my engine be fine without EGR? I really don't have the money for an engine rebuild. lol

I have the LS6 with EGR you have to call Lingenfelter and they sell a block kit that you drill a hole in the top of the intake then put the block in and RTV it. Mine has worked well for the last 3 years, and yeah cali wont pass the visual cause you "tampered" with it. Been there done that fortunatley its registerd in Wa. with no emissions and i only have to do the tailpipe for base stickers.

If you are that worried about it I would personally spend two hours every two years and just swap em.

I don't know how the laws are over there but my vette doesn't even have an EGR from the factory. If for some reason they wouldn't pass you it would be because of the visual. Removing the EGR will not cause any detonation or any problems of any kind. I took it off my trans am and my sisters 98 Z28 and neither of them have any detonation. I know I sure wouldn't want to be drilling any hole in the top of the LS6 intake. There has to be alot of people in California that run the LS6 intake with no EGR. I would ask around about what they do when it comes time for the emissions tests

Your motor will be fine w/o egr...I have an LS6 intake with the EGR provisions, but I took it all off and plugged the hole with one of those rubber plugs from O'Rielly's. It was either 5/8's or 7/8's hole. If you're that worried about it, buy the block kit. The egr is just for start up. I've heard it'll just be harder on cold mornings to keep it running, which I've only had that problem once and it was like -4 outside...

Sadly Lingenfelter told me they don't sell the kit any longer. I am in the same boat as FAST 95 Z28, being in CA we have to pass a Visual check, Tailpipe sniffer and they also check the OBD for valid and or non-valid codes.

FAST 95 Z28, here is the plan we are planing to do this summer.

We have the LS6 intake and an extra EGR setup. We are going to make a dummy mount on the LS6 intake so from visual it looks correct like an LS1 intake and block off the EGR tube so it is non functional. Then we will have to get the Computer to show pass codes for the EGR system. A friend of mine that computer tunes the LS motors tells me that is no problem, He says the default is PASS for some reason.

Maybe you can sell your LS6 and just buy the one that has it included already. Will save you some headaches.
as true as that is their intake costs $550, where i picked up my LS6 intake for $275. and if i was correct i think the adapter piece used to cost around $50 when they made them. Does anyone by any chance have one for sale?

I know SLP used to sell them but checked their site and didn't see it listed.Maybe ebay or find a ls1 intake and see if it could be transfered.

I called them because I was going to try to buy that fitting from them because I was going to cap it off and put it back in the intake. They said they don't sell it but any plumbing outfitter sells it...well I work for a plumbing company and I couldn't find it. I think it's a 7/8s npt union with a jam nut. You could probably get a 3/4X7/8's brass bushing and if they make it a 3/4 npt jam nut, with a 7/8'sX2 nipple and use that though. The one that came on my intake had star washers and o-rings on it to seal it. Idk how that thing worked. It was a bitch to take off, I couldn't get it to loosen so I took a hack saw blade and cut it off, took me about an hour. It's a swagelock fitting (the company who makes it) Call them and ask them. They're real high dollar fittings
