Default Downside to Long Tubes w/ Catted Y-Pipe

I'm about to order some ARHs and I need to know if they will affect my consistency in bracket racing?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Emission laws are Federal, and cover every state in the U.S. You just happen to live in a county where they aren't inforced.

That is correct, and don't you forget it.

If it were me, I'd at least make sure the tune was in order after the header install - there can be some kooky stuff going on afterwards.

The only reason I have an ORY is because it offered better ground clearance than my TSP catted Y... and it was only 2 pieces instead of like 7 from TSP. Cats will hurt you about as much as not having stickers all over a honda.

every emissions place handles thing differently. Some look under the car some do not, just depends on where you live.

But the LT w/ cats as far as consistency, your constantly going to be running quicker times than before

We don't even inspect here in Lincoln. When you get a new car from out of state they look at it. But that's about it. lol

I kinda wish I woulda went catted. I got ORY cuz they were cheaper.

Cats do smooth out the exhaust tone, and make it a little quieter. I ran a LM1 with a tsp catted Y. It was still too loud though so it became a borlamouth. Constant speed bump dragging and leaks from all of the exhaust connections made it turn into a pacesetter ORY and a hooker catback. If I was to get another catted y pipe then I would look either toward a custom made catback, or one that offered a 4" merge... kooks maybe?

to Mr. Weezer,

Around three or fours years ago, The state in which i live (North Carolina), passed a state emissions law. This law was put into affect to control emissions on our vehicles. The machine that is used is called a OBDII scanner. Automotive shops that have inspection stations had to use this machine. Shops had to buy the machine, as well as send their mechanics to school to be taught how to use it. Now, here is my reason in which i said my county has no emissions laws. ( By the way, you said i was an idiot for claiming this) The state of NC was told for the majority of their counties to run the OBDII systems in their inspections. Since NC has 100 counties, they picked 51 out of those 100 counties. and the county in which i live (Jones) has no OBDII system. Therefore my inspection has NO EMISSIONS TEST.

with all that being said, i guess when i wrote my first post it was a little misleading. But I guess on this board, you must be on your p's and q's or some know-it-all, 1,000,000,000 post count jackass will try and tell you that you dont have a clue what you are talking about. I thought this site was for advice, not to get into pissing matches with IDIOTS like you.

-Thank you
