FAST intake worth it i my situation??!!
move but very briefly-would it be worth getting one if you just stick with bolt ons? I plan on doing all of the major bolt ons and either getting the ls6 or FAST.........

BS.......4/tenths is serious HP... No IM could deliver on it's own....Especially a LT only setup.....Just go away.......

or maybe there was better air too...it's unlikely but could have helped out some other things to account for a large portion of the gain
there was one guy here who didn't gain anything though, so it just depends on the setup I think
I noticed a healthy change in pull, off idle up but most noticeably over 4k rpm. When I get my car on the dyno again I'll try to get a baseline before retuning to see what I gained from the intake. But I know it's not less than 20hp just from the way it feels relative to the ~60 hp gain I had over my old 350 with the ls1 swap.
People can throw up numbers all they want (including myself), but unless the numbers are from the same day, whether it be the dyno or the track, they are hard to justify. DA changes at the track, as well as prep can throw numbers off - thus most likely why lynx saw .4. Dynos are the same, a simple recalibration between sessions can cause false numbers, as will temperatures - even with the "correction"
Maybe some people are really seeing 30rwhp gains, I did not and there are many others that have not seen even close to that. Almost any set of ported heads will always gain you that much, no question.
I am keeping my FAST 92, but only because I am port matching it to my TFS 235s on the new 416. Otherwise, had I stuck with the combo in my sig it would be in the for sale section, while I was trying to hunt down another LS6 manifold
is it worth it? well some guys will spend $1000 to gain 10hp, others wouldn't pay that much for 20hp.
an advantage i saw in doing the FAST...other than getting a great deal on it...was that i could do it myself with no other parts. heads are nice and you can get budget ported heads for >$1200. but then you need $100 in gaskets, $100 in bolts, and a hell of a lot more knowledge, skill and tools to do the job right.
only difficult thing about the FAST is needing an in-lb torque wrench for the bolts.
i've heard guys use the argument that heads also require a dyno/street tune, while the FAST does not.
THIS i DON'T agree with. my car ran pretty lean after the FAST. so i say the tune was a neccessity.

18hp, 12ftlbs....same day, same dyno, tuned before AND after
I am still going to argue with you though. You are comparing apples to oranges in a used FAST to new budget heads. But on the other side, Compare a new FAST w/ TB and you are talking about $1100 on average.
Used cnc ported ls6 or 5.3 heads will cost you maybe $800, plus $50 for gm MLS gaskets, $100 IF you go with ARP bolts, and say $50 in fluids (oil and coolant) for a total of $1000.
Heads are not hard to do on these cars, just a PITA because of the cowl (the same issues you encounter when swapping intakes). It just involves proper cleanout and torque just like anything else. It also gives people the perfect opportunity to swap out lifters and rockers to better suit their high profile cams.
Like I said, I am glad your numbers came out good for you, but those results do not happen for many people, especially when on stock cubes and swapping from the LS6 intake
only reason I have a fast is I got a pm in response to looking for a ls6 and got an offer of $500 for one, ported it my self (I think I did a damn fine job on that) and then looked around a couple weeks and found a 90mm tb for $200
still need to sell my ls1/ported tb (might get $80-100 for them) so in the end I'll have paid around $600 for my ported fast setup...if I was gonna pay over $300 for just a ls6 to gain 10-15 why wouldn't I spend another $300 to double that or more
I do not doubt once my car is tuned my hp will be bumped by 30-40hp between the intake and the tune, maybe even more judging by how low my base numbers were on this mail order tune.
I would never buy one new, but look around for a deal...they're out there.

my power gain was really good across the curve.
from the start of the pull at ~3000rpm all the way to peak i gained 5-10 hp and ftlbs.
NEVER did the FAST-curve dip under the LS6-curve.
i even lowered the rpm that the torque peaked at by 500rpm.
