Default Spark plug gap

hey, i was just wondering abut spark plug gap, in the past i never changed the gap on other engines where i did head and cam swaps, but my question is this im runin a stock bottom end ls1 with ms3 cam and tsp 5.3l 2.5 ported heads, is there any gap that i should be putting the plugs at or should i just go with the stock gap?

Since you've increased compression with your 5.3L heads, you'll need to back down the gap a little bit. If you're using TR55's, I'd go around .048 depending on your compression ratio.

For my heads/cam cars I build I like using the TR6 plug (a step colder) gapped .044. Works perfect especially for high compression engines and they never have false spark knock.

But you are gapping it at .038 becuase of your mods right. I dont think a mainly stock car would need gapped at those numbers right. All I have is a headers exhaust car when you come right down to it. So shouldnt I be higher.

The main reason I am running them is because I'm running nitrous. I ran them in my cam only 02 Z28(sprayed too) and it ran awesome on motor with the TR6s

You will be fine running the 55s
