Hey guys,

I just swapped to a BBK intake on a 2002 Camaro and after getting everything buttoned back up I threw code P0107 and my ASR is not working. Are both these things related to a bad MAP sensor? I noticed while putting the sensor into the back of the intake that the rubber seal had a tear in it.

Also, is there any easier way to replace this sensor other than removing the intake?

ASR has to do with the cable connected to the throttle on the intake/tb

CausesThe causes of a low MAP sensor signal circuit (P0107) could be any of the following:

Bad MAP sensor
Open or short in the signal circuit
Open or short in the 5 Volt reference circuit
Ground circuit open or shorted
Bad PCM

 

Yeah, but I think the ASR system uses vacuum pressure to function. Since I posted this, I found a couple other instances where people did not hook up the MAP correctly and also lost ASR.

 

Yeah, I am wondering if I got the MAP hooked back up the right way. The connector was really hard to get back together and it never really "snapped" in. I think that might be the problem. Guess I'll just have to pull the intake again and check it out.

 

you don't have to pull the whole manifold to get to that plug... just reach back there... you could remove the passenger side coils and it will be a little easier..

 

I have big hands so its pretty tough. Even after pulling the coils do you think there would be enough room to work on the plug if there is something wrong with it? I don't know why they made the thing so damn short.
