Going to tackle this within a week or so. Here are the materials I have:
LS6 Intake
Ported Throttle Body
Block Off Plates
Is there anything I'm missing? I already grinded down the ribs on the bottom of the intake. Where did you guys get another oil pressure sending unit gm/autozone/pep boys/advance auto parts? I figure I'll buy one to be on the safe side.

sounds like you have it covered but i would do the throttle body bypass while you are at it. just get some rubber hose and run it from the block straight to the radiator instead of in and out of the throttle body. yes any of those places should be able to get you the oil sending unit, but they will most likely have to order it.

Forgot to ask before do I need a plug for the back of the intake? I thought I read somewhere about needing a vacuum plug for the intake.

On the back of the intake there is a hole for a sensor and brake booster hose and your port for your ac. If your not going to run your ac plug that port. I did my swap about 3 weeks ago and really like the ls6 intake. Good luck

Anyone buy another oil pressure sending unit where did you buy it from? Autozones website doesn't have it listed.

i had ordered one from rockauto.com, but they had to wait to get it in stock before it shipped (took 2-3 weeks)

i didnt feel like waiting to long so i special ordered on at the dealership for about $20 more than rockauto. dealership got it in the next morning.

and believe me, you want it....i broke my oil pres. sending unit doing my intake swap and im glad i had one on hand. be careful, the brake booster hose easily snapped mine in half when i pulled my stock intake.

Yeah this is exactly why I am just going to get another. I talked to a few local guys in NJFBOA and they said they broke it the first time out as well. Stealership it is I'll call first thing Monday morning maybe I'll get lucky and they will have it.

Just got done doing my LS6 today, and of course, the OPSU was broken, but I swear, possibly it was already broken and jostling everything around just sealed it's fate. I was extra carefull, but it still broke.

Got a replacement at the local Pepboys for $40. Cost me another 10 for a 1 1/16" deepwell socket (FYI, has to be 6 point, 12's won't work).

All in total, took me about 5 hours, but that includes two trips to the local parts stores. No ripped flesh , but damn were some of the bolts hard to get too.

I followed the guite on LS1howto, and while good, the only tools required are a 8mm, 10mm, 15mm, screwdriver and pliers. While absoutely true, I ended up getting 10 versions of the same thing out of the tool box. 10mm 1/4 10mm 3/8's, 10mm deepwell, u-joints, extenders, etc, etc. The only 10mm deepwell I had was a 1/2" version that was too big in some areas so I had to adapt something to work. That's the kind of thing that makes a 2hr job into a 5hr one.

Everything is back in except for the EGR blockoff plate, which I'll have some of my guys at the machine shop make me up one. I'll install tomorrow and see how she runs.

Recently tackled this and have to go back because I broke the osu on re install. One question I have is there is a blue clip to the right of the osu next to the back right corner of the intake. Where is this going to I can not find out for the life of me.

it goes to some sort of vacuum. i know there is a place on the back right of the manifold that it clips to once the 2 connections are together.

so its been a couple weeks, but i finally figured out what my idle issues are. i posted earlier saynig the it would surge back and forth and idle high when it got hot. and a lot of people mentioned vacuum leak, which is also what i thought. well after 2 weeks of searching, i couldnt find any vacuum leak. So i went to my buddies house, and we hooked my car up to HP tuners so i could delete my AIR, EGR, skip shift, setp my cooling fan temps and so on, well after everythnig was said and done, im not throwing any codes, but the car is sitll idling wierd when it gets hot. so we are comparing everything under my hood to everythnig under his hood. he has a 2000 trans am. same stuff done to his as ine except he has headers. anyway, we look at the throttle bodies, and the hole in the throttle body blade on his is small, the one on mine is huge, like twice the size of his. so i do a little searching on here and google. and the holes are made bigger when a cam has been added. well i am camless, so its screws my idle up. so now i am in search of a stock 98-99 throttle body blade. sorry for the super long post. but besides that, my car runs fantastic at WOT.

I'm getting ready to do a LS6 intake install, and I planned on using the Ls6 coolant lines, until I read about the #7 cylinder problems. I've never heard of this before, what problems is it causing?

So when you slide the manifold back enought to connect the hose and clip on the left side somewhere along the right side will be a clip for this sensor? Will be putting the new OSU in and clipping this sensor back in on Tuesday.

no, on the back right of the manifold there is a metal bracket that is made specifically for that blue plug in the back.

yea, i was reading somewhere else that people who have cammed there cars driiled out the small hole in the throttle body blade to help with there idle. since the guy a bought the intake and throttle body from had a cam, im assumnig he did the same thing, since the whole in my blade is twice the size of my buddies stock throttle body.

UPDATE:
i just got done starting/driving my car for the first time. all is well for me, OPSU was not broken, and it idle like a champ.

i can definately feel a harder pull in the upper rpms after the p&p tb and ls6 intake. it was well worth the install for how easy it was to do, id say after everything was said and done, it took about 5 hours for everything, that includes: removed the ls1, after that i transferred everything from the ls1 to the ls6, then i ground the ribbs down, then i did the throttle body bypass mod, then i put the ls6 intake back on, tb back on, and the lid back on.
How does the sensor on the back come out.do you turn it like backing out a screw or does it pull out.
