Default Overheating...please help

Fellas i have tried the following with no luck. Checked the radiator, hoses and water pump for leaks...none found. Flushed the system refilled with 70%dexcool. 20% water, new radiator cap, and replaced the coolant level sensor. All with the end result of still running hot. Collant isn't overflowing, just heating up to abot 240 and my car never really went past 210. I also checked the radiator and condensor for dirt, debris or plastic bags...nothing. What could this be? I

If i remove the radiator cap and let the car run for about 5+mins the coolant level slightly rises but doesn't run out of the radiator neck housing. Could this be a bad water pump or t-stat? Any help would be appreciated.

If your still having issues I would change out the t-stat... Also have the heater on so you make sure you get all the air pockets out.

X2 on changing the stat. Also when watching the coolant you should see in go down a little when the stat opens and then you should see it flowing.

i agree also, and air pockets play hell on temp sending units tricking them into giving false readings.

Just watch the temp guage. I have squeezed the top radiator hose before while running and was able to get some more air out of the system.

Once its heated up, you can see air pockets bubbling out when the t-stat opens.

It's right in front of the intake manifold. It goes from one head to the other.

I always drill two small holes in the thermostat diafram before I put it in place. Works like a charm!

I also drill "steam holes" in my 'stats. Too big might
bother you northern folks' winter warmup but I've
never had a prob with 3/32". \

I see no mention of whether the fans are running
during the overtemp swing.

Thanks for all the input fellas. As far as bleeding the coolant line how do i do this? Do i disconnect and squeeze the line? The fans kick on right at 210 and remain on for about a minute after i turn the car off. They stay on the whole time from when the car reaches 210 degrees.
