Default Muffler Questions

I have a 2000 Z28 A4 with LPP headers ORY and a LM. I just recently installed the LPPs and the car is a different animal now. I drive the car everyday its just way too loud. Also, the Loudmouth creates this terrible sound that everyone warned me about.

Anyway, I was just wondering what would be a good way to get the exhaust sound levels down to about half so that I don't lose my hearing. I've heard of the Magnamouth and BorlaMouth setups. The Xr1 seems to be a good deal, but I was wondering, do the Xr1s actually make it that much queiter? Am I better off just getting a new Catback instead or can this be a quick fix? I don't want it terribly quiet, just enough to get that eardrum destroying rasp gone. Do these mufflers do anything to the idle sound levels?

so the Xr1 or bullet mufflers aren't a good way to go?

the magnaflow should be similar to the XR1...buth are basically bullet mufflers with more sound deadening material.

i think the MF is cheaper.

it will make a much cleaner sound than the LM resonator. both at idle and WOT.

it should help considerable.

other option is to put a magnaflow on each tip...or a small one chamber.

Switching to a Magnaflow with a Ecutout end of May. My current set-up is crazy loud for the street. At least that is what North Aurora's finest told me. Looking forward to loosing the raw fuel smell also.
