Default Spark Plug Socket And Boot Puller

I am gonna be gathering up the last few things I need soon, so when I order my headers, I have everything needed. I have never changed plugs or wires before, so was hoping you guys could shed some light. I've seen modified spark plug sockets like the one SLP offers. And just searched on ebay for some boot pullers, and they range from $4-$55 LOL.

So could you folks share what you use that works efficiently?

Thanks Much!

for a boot puller....i used my hand. twist the boot til you hear a "pop", then pull it off. and i used a regular length spark plug socket.

Just figured it would be tough to pull off. And be safer to not possible break a spark plug to use one? Wasn't sure if a socket more or less designed for plug removal after install would be more beneficial for future use.

You don't need any special tools to do plugs on an LS1. A regular wal-mart 5/8 plug socket & wrench will do the trick if thats all you have. A short extension is needed also. Do not waste your money on any fancy tools.

As for the wires, just make sure you tug from the BOOT and not the wire itself. You'll rip the wire in half doing this.
