after header install ??s

after header install ??s just want to narrow down the possibilities after my header install. I just installed FLPs onto my car (love em...slid right in and tuck up well)....but im getting ticking from both sides of the bay. The driver side has a noticeable tick at idle and the passenger side isnt noticeable till revved. I created the restrictor plates (3/16 hole for passthru) but i did run the car a day or two with the tick b4 the plates were put in. Are my check valves for the AIR system already burned up, or other possibilities?
P.S. I did reuse manifold gaskets and my cars a 99 but they looked in decent shape.

unless you have an exhuast leak or something and you've checked everything is bolted down right then its probably your check vavles, i dont know how long it takes them to burn out but it sounds like thats the problem.

If you are sure there are no leaks, what you may be hearing are exhaust pulses in the primaries near the bottom of the car. Just the new price of poker with LT's! You'll get used to it. Bottom line: Don't expect this to go away even if you do need to fix the check valve issue. It may not be the cause.
