Default gmmg or loudmouth?

I know that this question has probably been asked a bunch before but I couldnt find the information I wanted in the search. I have been leaning toward the gmmg over the loudmouth due to rasp and esentially what I have heard on gmmg's website. I just want to find out what everyone thinks about these 2 exhausts. The gmmg is like twice as expensive but I understand it to be a much higher quality exhaust and sound better.

If you had the choice which of the two exhausts would you pick? Any input on the choice is much appreciated.

Are you going to dump your cats with the flp's? The LoudMouth is great as long as you still have cats; great sound, great price. With no cats, you will need a real muffler, so the gmmg or a borla would be your best bet.

I've had the LM exhaust before, and I totally second Cal's opinion. Loudmouth sounds great, but I'd do a borlamouth or dynomouth conversion if you want to dump the rasp. GMMG is worth the money, its just your personal opinion man.

Just asked the same question a month ago, and this is the answer. GMMG=great sound, bad price and LM=Great sound, graet price. However in the long run, without cats, LM sounds bad, and you need a Borla XR1 or a Dynomax Bullit. GMMG can stay the same alllllll the way through the mods and sound nice. If I could do it again, I would still get LM, if you get it, try driving under an overpass or through a parking garage. You will find that your car now sounds almost exactly like a NASCAR stock car. GMMG=Old Classic Muscle Car.

I personally like the loudmouth, the tips arent the greatest in the world but you can get one at a good price. As far as not having cats with the loudmouth, it is loud, but i think it sounds mean at wot, ecspecially with a h/c package.

my buddy has the lm w/ no cats and shorties on an lt1 and it does sound mean as hell but the rasp is nasty. I am probably going with the gmmg but the dent in the wallet is kinda rough, but I guess I have to deal with it for the best.

i have the LM, and wouldnt trade it for any other catback, i love it. If you do get rid of the cats or get headers, get the dynomax bullet like everyone says. LM + dynomax = still cheaper than GMMG! dont get me wrong, the GMMG does sound good though

It basically comes down to personal prefrence. The GMMG has a cleaner/deeper sound to it than the loudmouth does without as much rasp. There are no performance gains going with one setup over the other so it boils down to if you are one with the rasp or not , personally i like the raspy sound and think it sort of sounds like nascar.

If I knew how to post vids then I could show you some nice WOT LM drive bys. One clip is just plane sick, as the sound echos off of everything, and give the car a recoil sound effect. Here is the deal, do you want to sound like a NASCAR or a classic muscle car? At WOT I think that LM is just plane ungodly awesome. If you want to **** your pants then get someone with loudmouth to drive by at WOT. You will find an embarassing surprise ( just a joke never realy craped my pants ) I do not get that effect with GMMG though But for the money get loudmouth if you need to change it then you can choose from many racing mufflers to quiet the rasp. With GMMG you wont need to modify it but most people goe X-pipe true duels with LT anyway. Like I said I chose LM over GMMG, and I got it in 3 days!!!!! Thanks to Angie at Thunder Racing it cost $370. That, I must say, is way way way way way way way way cheaper then GMMG. I put it on this saturday, and I'll tell ya what I think if you want to wait.

I have a loudmouth and you can't go wrong with it. I love it the more I drive the car the louder the exhaust gets. I have not heard GMMG but If your like me you want something that is loud and people turn their heads when you are coming down the road to see that it is not just another mustang. . Get the lm and save money and enjoy it

I am now thinking of the lm due to the monetary situation...BUT, I have heard that it does start to sound worse as you break it in and put wear on it? Does it sound worse or does it start to sound better with time?

Thanks for the input guys, it is very much appreciated.

I have gmmg and my best friend has loudmouth. When he first got the loudmouth on it i thought it was so cool and i was really close to buy till i rode in it for about 2 hours on the freeway, i am a kid and i love the sound of a loud car but it just resonates inside and vibrates everything and gets very annoying. On the hot rod power tour i rode in a car that had the gmmg exhaust and it sounds good in the car and is pretty loud outside but doesnt have a drone to it so it does not get annoying so i got gmmg and would never ever get any other cat-back.

I had the Loudmouth for a few years, and now have the GMMG.

both have a similar sound, except GMMG is more refined. And a lot less drone.

So my vote is for GMMG.

I have the GMMG and love it. I'm from a small town where every other car is a fox body with flowmasters, and my car absolutely stops traffic. I have now added a heads and cam package with a g5x2 clone cam. It will honest to God set off car alarms now. Anothe rexcellent point is I just had it dynoed with the cut out open and closed, and it showed no power lose or gain. Brent form TEA was very impressed with it. Give him a call and ask him about it, he's dynoed LM too. He can tell ya. I also have the offroad pipes, before and after the top end upgrade, it sounded awesome before, and now it'll put a tear in your eye it sounds so beautiful. Look if earnhart had it on his limited edition SS, that should tell you something!

No, it doesn't change with time, only people's perception of it changes. If you want to save money, get the LM now and replace the resonator with a Dynamax bullet, both are cheap. Like said before, it will sound very good as long as you have your cats in the system. There will be a drone/resonance at about 1850 to 1950 rpm, but you can shift gears or adjust your speed if it bothers you. If you ever dump your cats, you can just add a queiter muffler somewhere in the system.

ahhhh, everyone makes such good points for both sides. I just cant make a decision right now. I guess I will have to wait to see what my bonus from work will be next week, and that will determine which one I get.

I dont really want the drone because I mainly cruise in that rpm range while on the highway. But the price is going to be the decision maker. Thanks for the input guys.

Soldier: the best place to get the gmmg is the only place that I know of to get it.... http://www.gmmginc.net and it is 700 bucks so it kinda breaks the bank.

Do you drive with your windows down? Because if you do the drone goes away. It is only present with the windows up. GMMGs sound is very unique, and it is better with more mods. LM is wide open sounding, like a drag car, or a very powerful beast of a hot rod. The question has to come to price, will you pay $700+ for a unique soound of an old muscle car on a modern muscle car? Or pay $450 no more for a wide open sound of a NASCAR? That is it, make your decision from that, because I did, and ended up with a killer traffic stopping, holy crap what was that sounding car.
