Default A/C dryer is freezing

I wasn't sure where to post this so....

The A/C thing (brain fart) that everyone polishes, right behind the battery, has frozen water on it after I drive my car. I just noticed it yesterday, but I assume it's been doing it since I had my cam installed.
Is this normal, it never froze before there was just always condensation on it. Does this mean my A/C works awesome or is something wrong?

About 90% of the time that means the system is overcharged, I'd get it checked out asap to not cause any future problems.

*Btw, the A/C thing your talking about is the Dryer*

yes dryer! lol

What can I do about it? I can check it out, but not sure what to do. Will I need to drain the system and then have it recharged?

i'm thinking the condensor had to come out when you did the cam swap right? Then it was charged up, possibly overcharged. I'd suggest evacuate and recharge.

if you have a set of gauges you can check the superheat. adjust the charge as needed. It seems as if there is too much in the system.

Not sure what he means by superheat but you just need to check it with some guages. It should pull about 50lbs on the low side at an ambient 80* outside temp. You should be able to search a chart and see what it should be pulling in relation to the outside temp and go from there.

yea, probably overcharged, but could also be a pressure switch not cycling the compressor off. I have seen that happen and totally freeze the evap core. If a line is frozen it is more than likely a restriction at that point.
